Gearhorse wip by JWadeWebb Gearhorse wip by JWadeWebb
So not finished with this one, so not getting a chance to work on it either.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to finish, though.

It's from a sketch that :iconbakanekonei: posted some time ago.

For those who don't know--

I've been having problems both at work and at home with my Wacom/Photoshop combo. I've got an Intuos 3/PS CS3 at work, using a Graphire/PS CS3 at home. Both computers go back and forth as to whether pen pressure works or not. It's really frustrating--you wind up having to change the way you work. I prefer to use pen pressure, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. I've also noticed other little smaller things in Photoshop don't work like they should or how I think they should (or how I remember they should). I've tried searching the net for this issue, and it looks other people are having it with both CS2 and CS3, with the only solution being to reinstall the tablet drivers. That doesn't sound right--this happening to me with two different tablets on two different computers?

So, I've recently started testing out a copy of CS4 just to see what is different and whether I can talk my boss in letting me upgrade. Guess what--my tablet works like it should, my shortcuts work like they should, even being able to select a file type by selecting the first letter using the keyboard works. Jump back to CS3, nope, still doesn't work right. Re-installed CS3, nope, still works the same.

What you see above was from me getting frustrated with CS3. I get so far, get frustrated, and save and quit.

Eventually I'll get it finished. I'm sure Nei is probably wondering why she hasn't heard back from me yet. :(

This will eventually go to scraps.

I would love to see it finished as well... LOL

I've got a handful of commissions to finish, not counting a major project at my day job that is consuming my time. I do plan on finishing it, though.

Well, I don't think they make Graphire any more, it's now Bamboo. It's a rather inexpensive tablet, but you get half the pressure levels of the Intuos. The Graphire is the same way. With what I've done, I've not really noticed much of a difference. The Intuos has programmable buttons, that I know. If you're just wanting a table to play with, go for the Bamboo (the $99 one). If you're willing to shell out more moola and want a larger working space, then go for an Intuos.

I so seriously want a Cintiq, though.
